Announcements
One-to-many communication, with tabs, recipients and read receipts. And when an announcement beats a chat message.
An announcement goes from one person to many: you publish it, you set who receives it, and Tasuki records who has read it. It is the agency noticeboard, not a conversation.
Announcement or chat message?
- Announcement when the message has to reach a whole group, you are not expecting replies, and you care about knowing who saw it. "Reminder: update your tax details", "January accounts closing", "Welcome to Elena Torres".
- Chat when you expect an answer, or when the thing gets sorted by talking.
Short version: an announcement is read, a message is answered. In chat an important notice lasts half a screen; two hours later it is buried under twenty messages and nobody knows whether everyone saw it.
The two tabs
- Administrative: what the agency needs people to actually do. Accounts closings, tax details, deliveries and project sign-offs.
- General: everything else. Welcomes, team lunches, weekly project round-ups.
They are separate because someone looking for the accounts-closing notice should not have to scroll past Friday's lunch first.
The feed
Announcements are grouped by day, with the number of notifications for each date, and every row shows at a glance:
- the time it was published,
- the title,
- the recipients, which can be the whole team or a group (Accounting, Creative team),
- and the read receipt, as a count of readers over the total.
Above the list you get filters, a date range to narrow the history, the notification count for that range, and the New notification button.
The read counter is the whole point
A 6/7 tells you one person is missing and who to ask. Without it, following up on a mandatory notice means messaging seven people one by one.
Publishing one people will read
- Pick the tab, administrative or general. It decides whether whoever looks for it in three months finds it.
- Set the recipients. Sending the whole team something that concerns three people is how you teach everyone to stop opening announcements.
- Write a title that stands on its own. The feed shows the title and little else: "Invoice reminder" says nothing; "January accounts closing - outstanding invoices due" does.
It depends on your plan
Announcements are included from the Business plan upwards, and chat from the Team plan. Check the pricing table to see what your plan covers.
