Create your workspace
What a workspace is in Tasuki, what lives inside it, and what to decide before you invite anyone.
The workspace is the container for everything else: projects, tasks, messages, notes and tracked hours. An agency normally has just one, and all the work for all of its clients lives inside it.
What a workspace holds
- Projects, which are the boards. The demo workspace has Clients, Projects, Marketing and Development.
- Lists inside each project, marking where a task stands: Inbox, Up next, In progress and On hold.
- Cards, which are the tasks. They carry a description, assignees, labels, dates, checklists, attachments and comments.
- Labels, which in an agency are almost always used to mark which client a task belongs to.
What to decide before inviting the team
- How you will separate work by client. You can create one project per client, or one project per area and use client labels. The demo workspace does the second, and it works better when you have many small clients.
- Which lists you need. Four is usually enough. Add ten and the Kanban view stops being readable at a glance.
- Who administers. The admin role can invite people, change roles and deactivate members, so at least two people should have it.
💡
Do not start with labels
Create two or three projects and a handful of real cards before designing your label system. On real work you see straight away which labels you need; on a blank slate you do not.
What next
Once the workspace is standing, continue with Invite your team and then Your first board.
